White walls add to the spacious feel of the design by keeping the room bright and airy. Neutral furniture in the sitting room blends beautifully with the floor and keeps a classic and timeless look to the design.
In the foyer, a patterned tile was chosen as an area “rug” inset to create a sense of surprise and drama upon arrival at the front door. The custom railing and wood stair treads lead up to the living room for an open and spacious connection to the home interior. A white bench supports a piece of art for added texture to decorate the foyer.
This split-level home was renovated to create more interior space. Outside, a wraparound deck with custom cable rails, sliding glass doors and exterior lighting were added to create a more modern look.
A custom horizontal railing is used to add a modern feel to the Modern Prairie design of this Atlanta home. The stair risers are brick with a flagstone top. Both materials compliment the stone and brick on the house built by Epic Development.
A custom-designed railing made from mesh and metal piping lines this one-of-a-kind stairway. Corrugated tin adds interest on the ceiling, as does a custom light fixture dubbed "Daddy Long Legs" by the design team. Glass block windows bring in loads of natural light.
The home's original door, with unique crescent-moon window, was retained but given a new finish with a pleasing gold stain that permits the wood grain to show. Charcoal gray trim and new custom metal railing offer tastefully subtle touches that make the house stand out.
This Paradiso duplex-penthouse mixes elements of modern design all throughout the home. The contemporary staircase is both functional and artistic with a custom glass railing, while the herringbone pattern on the hardwood floor draws the eye to the nearby dining room with large pendant chandeliers facing the outdoor patio.
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, Sarah plays with various shades of blue and turquoise to give a young couple a chic and colorful open plan living and dining area. A dividing wall was removed and a custom plate rail installed for seamless flow between the two rooms.
This pristine living room features white walls and intricate design details, such as the molded fireplace surround and custom iron railings on balconies that encircle the space. Furnishings are clean, contemporary and neutral, with a conversation area that offers ample seating for entertaining. Large arched windows overlook a pretty stone courtyard.
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, Sarah removed a dividing wall between a cramped living and dining area to allow ample space for entertaining. She installed a custom plate rail around the perimeter of the space and added a wispy light blue paint that ties together the room's blue decor.
This wide view of the kitchen highlights the open layout and the beautiful stairwell with custom-made railing. The stairwell connects the home’s three levels and replaces an existing staircase enclosed in dry wall. “It was like a big dinosaur in the room,” says project manager Scott Branscom. “The stairs also separated the kitchen from the living room and blocked your view.”
