As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It Too, designer Jillian Harris decided to make a contemporary mudroom for the family. The homeowners needed a space where the family could come in from enjoying their time in the pool and leave their wet things. The mint green and cream striped walls give the space a beach feel, while the bright red "pool" lettering gives the space a touch of modern flair.
Designer Kari McIntosh Dawdy selected an unusual shade of medium blue for this remodeled family room that gives the room a warm, intimate and glamorous feel. The modern canvas in shades of blue provides depth and texture, while the neutral shade of the sofa and ottoman blend with the soft tones of white and cream also found within the framed piece. Turquoise and pink accessories complete Dawdy's intriguing approach for this room.
To bring the Moroccan inspired decor to the couple's four seasons porch, designers blended rich fabrics and textures. The ceilings are covered in a rich, stained wood that complements the other furniture in the space. Thick cushions add a luxurious, Moroccan feel to the space, while bold, blue accent pillows bring warmth into the space. In the rear of the room, a small, distressed hookah bar adds character and charm to the design while complementing the blue and cream patterned light fixture hanging from the ceiling. David Austin English Rose James L. Austin has perfectly-formed flowers in an unusual shade of deep reddish-pink that's spectacular among garden companions in shades of blue, purple, grey, green and cream. The flowers form large rosettes with a classic button eye of the sort long associated with the Old Roses (especially the antique Gallicas and Albas). The dense petals shrug off bad weather. The workspace in this salon is symmetrical. In the center of the space, white modern nail booths sit in a line. At each of these, a gold Midcentury Modern chair provides customers with a comfortable place to sit. Above each booth is a modern white light fixture with gold interior, accenting the glamour of the space. On either side of the nail booths, four cream armchairs sit in front of pedicure booths, making the space feel even more relaxing. The gold fixtures in the space give the salon floor touches of glam, while the colors of the seating adds to the feminine vibe of the space.
Carrots, sweet potatoes, onions and garlic are some of the more common root vegetables cooks use everyday but there are plenty of other less common but equally delicious varieties you can try such as Salsify. Some people call it the oyster plant due to its flavor. Sow the seeds in early spring when the soil temperature has reached 40 degrees and expect to harvest the salsify in 120 to 150 days. Its lemon-yellow buds open to frilly flowers that gradually become cream-colored. Michael Marriott, an Austin rose expert, recommends growing it with soft blue and lilac perennial flowers. 'Imogen's' scent is a mix of fresh apple and almond with a touch of musk and cloves. Grow it in zones 5 to 9 and expect flowers from early summer till frost.

When Erin first moved in, the accent wall behind the bed was painted a loud orange tone, the previous tenant's homage to the San Francisco Giants that play just across the street at AT&T Park. To keep the space open and airy, she and Chris painted the walls a classic white (Benjamin Moore 01), then selected a palette of light grays, muted blues and creams. To add a personal touch in keeping with the airy aesthetic of the room, Erin added photographs with special meaning for her and her husband, Chris. "I don't like having photos of people everywhere. I like photos that are more landscape or locale-based, but hold personal meaning," Erin explains. "The photograph print of Outer Banks, North Carolina means a lot to Chris and me because that's where we first met, at a friend's wedding. I gave it to him for our first anniversary. I think it's the perfect inspiration piece for creating a bedroom that's calm, serene and all about Chris and me."
All parts of a pea plant are edible, including blossoms, shoots, tendrils and pods. Young shoots taste the best, while older ones tend to be tough and stringy. Pea shoots and blooms make a beautiful addition to spring salads and stir-fries. Many chefs use young pea plants to make pea stock or even ice cream. If you’re growing peas for shoots, harvest micro-greens when plants are 2-4 inches tall (roughly 2 weeks) and snap greens when plants are 4-8 inches tall (roughly 2-4 weeks). This pink-flowered variety is a snow pea known as ‘Dwarf Grey Sugar.’ Vines aren’t dwarf, though, growing 4 to 5 feet tall.
