This project was a collaboration between two landscape architects Ladd Roberts of Landwise Design and Craig Reynolds for Craig Reynolds Landscape Architecture both brought their unique points of view to create a custom design that combines the architecture and landscape to make this vacation home a place the owners never want to leave.
Craig Reynolds Landscape Architecture replaces the interior finish, giving the pool a more natural hue of blue. On a $45,000 budget, they replace the patio, line the pool with stones and break up the ho-hum rectangular shape with a stone walkway, creating an attractive square-shaped pool and two smaller decorative pools.
Tucked away in the Florida Keys, this contemporary home is surrounded by palm trees and lush plants. As guests make their way around the side of the house, they'll find a paved path that leads through the garden.
This outdoor space in particular has a sense of "organized lushness," as a stone walkway and trimmed turf provide a clear path through the tropical garden. Once they reach the end of the trail, guests can choose to sit or continue their journey in either direction.
With a weathered stone water fountain and ivy climbing the wall, this corner of the garden almost seems like a site from an Indiana Jones movie. Those brave enough to explore the 4-acre lot on warm days will reap the reward of this refreshing space.
Royal palms and flowering plants offer a small glimpse of what's to come from this vacation home in Jamaica. As guests follow the smooth stone driveway, they'll enter a lush landscape that boasts water fountains, stunning structures and an infinity-edge pool with views of the ocean.
