This Florida home combines four cabins connected by covered walkways, creating a treehouse-like atmosphere. The walkways are made with ipe decking, while a metal roof and board-and-batten siding evoke old Florida architecture.
During renovation, pre-existing columns placed in the middle of the covered walkway minimized the usable space below. The columns were replaced with thin steel ones located at the far edge of the walkway to provide ample space to move and room for borders of lush plantings, making the space feel extra inviting.
This 7500 sq. ft. Houston, TX, home features a pergola-covered pathway that leads to a separate pool house along the landscaped lawn and terrace. Stones outline the landscaping, creating an alternate pathway through mature trees.
