A deep blue cabinet off the main dining room holds hand painted Mexican beverage pitchers and glasses. Orange and white patterned tile and a light blond wood paneling are a visual contrast to the deep blue cupboard.
To help separate the kitchen and living room spaces, designers introduced a little bit of color to the kitchen design through the lower cabinets and kitchen island. This contrast creates a design separation while keeping the spaces open and physically connected.
Exotic zebrawood cabinets make a statement in the contemporary kitchen where tall, narrow glass-front cabinets display beautiful dishes. White drawers keep the kitchen from becoming too dark and add nice contrast.
Large, creamy cabinets offer plenty of storage in this traditional kitchen. A dark glass tile backsplash creates great contrast to the cabinets, while an unexpected pop of blue on the kitchen island adds a more personal touch.
This contemporary kitchen features blue cabinetry complimented with a blue and yellow tile backsplash. A dark countertop breaks up the blue color and contrasts well with the upper white cabinets. A pendant light hangs above the deep sink to pair artificial light with the natural light from the window.
For the bathroom of a longtime customer-turned-friend, designer Katie Gagnon created a unique storage unit for the space between a pair of pedestal sinks. “This was a long-term project, and we spent a lot of time curating the perfect pieces for her ever-evolving space,” says Gagnon. “This storage cabinet was one we had custom made by an artisan we work with. The door is a vintage salvaged piece that had the original paint sanded off and we added an iron cremone bolt for some contrast and visual interest.”
