The Wendl family lived in a humble home with an outdated retro design. The cousins, Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri updated their home with a modern, chic look while complementing their desired retro design. The family room has been redesigned to include a fun white and mint green bar.
The main house of the building, sitting directly in the middle of the guest rooms, is a communal space where guests come to check in, eat and relax outside of their rooms. Just in through the front door, the space begins with this beautiful dining room. The forest-feel comes immediately through in this space with its color palette of warm browns and greens. The extendable table, which seats as many as 10 guests, is flanked by the hidden star of the show: an exquisite black armoire that accents the deep green of the wall, while the grain of the wood adds pattern and texture to the room.
This smartly designed and brightly colored mudroom is equipped with a potting bench, a sitting bench, a pegboard and even a pet door. The pegboard is perfect for hanging miscellaneous items when making a quick exit.
KIDS BEDROOM, AFTER: This newly redesigned bedroom is a perfect oasis for a tween boy with a sports inspired theme, just enough color and its own bathroom. A custom painted locker and stylized art give the room unique character.
A built-in banquette brings an explosion of color to this dining nook. A white tulip table centers the space, with a singular mustard yellow bucket chair offering an extra seat. Simple, modern art decorates the walls.
This outdoor gym at the home of El and Sharon Sanders underwent a makeover that took the weed and spider overrun yard filled with storage and fallen structures into a sleek, sophisticated space where the couple could workout together.
