The owners of the Sacred Pepper wanted a dining room that was inspired by their travels, Old Florida and organic elements found in nature, so designers started with a neutral color palette and accented it with cobalt blue to give the space a sand and sea feel. The details in the space, such as the artwork that hangs from the ceiling and the pendant lights over each table, are reminiscent of coral, adding the organic element to this elegant seascape.
A vivid cobalt blue accent wall in a custom paint finish creates a sizzling focal point for this contemporary bedroom. A white leather headboard adds a luxurious feel while the sleek lines of a framed art collage keeps the room feeling crisp and clean.
Cobalt-blue accents add vibrant pops of color to this sophisticated living room wrapped in honey-hued wood paneling. A large sectional and two chairs keep the seating arrangement simple. Architecture by Jasmit Rangr.
Susan Brunstrum designed this great room using soft color and contemporary furnishings and accents to continue her Mountain Modern approach to this vacation home in Park City, Utah. For the cream-colored sofas, she added cobalt blue pillows with a graphic pattern for a pop of color. The star-shaped pendant light trio adds texture and elegance to the room as well.
A black and white kitchen opens to contemporary sitting and breakfast areas that incorporate colorful accents and varying textures. White waterfall marble counters cover the island’s black cabinetry, as glass pendants hang above. In the sitting area, velvet chairs in a deep cobalt color, accented by pillows with bold geometric prints, sit in front of a trio of large windows. A smooth lucite coffee table is topped with shaggy, sheep’s wool, and is anchored by a neutral rug. Mirrored panels in the nook reflect the room’s natural light, and the white table and mid-century dining chairs add subtle modern touches to the classic space.
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, Sarah gives this once dark and cramped dining room a cheery makeover with neutral wall paints and a variety of bright blue decorative accents. The dining chairs were painted a rich cobalt blue to complement decor in the client's favorite color, turquoise.
In this distinct kitchen design by Susan Serra, the brushed metal table and glass countertops are counterbalanced by the warmth of wood cabinets, hardwood floors and distinct color accents. The gorgeous hand-blown cobalt blue pendants, with natural imperfections, are scene stealers and add artisan appeal to a contemporary setting. "Natural materials in lighting fixtures such as reclaimed wood and distressed metals also add that authentic element we crave," says Serra. "Imperfections are desired and coveted...in context, of course!"
