A look into this bathroom reveals a beautiful, timeless design. The base of the sink provides a built-in towel rack, and a mounted light fixture offers ample light. Colorful ocean artwork adds a pop of color to the white space.
If the countertops are in good condition and a neutral color, a simple bright tray can really jazz things up. Designer Jennifer Foster redid this 1990s builder bathroom for a client who did not want childish decor that her two sons would soon outgrow. The red metal tray fits with the primary colors in the pictures of Matchbox cars hanging on nearby walls, which Foster’s husband photographed specifically for the space.
A sturdy antique iron machine base contrasts with the bright, airy vibe in this bathroom for an unexpected, unique look. The round silver mirror and white vessel sink modernize classic elements like beadboard walls and a marble vanity countertop.
A soft neutral palette pairs with classic wainscoting and crown molding for a soothing bathroom retreat. Gold-framed prints add an elegant touch to the space, while a large spa bathtub is the perfect spot to relax.
The sea blue tiled floor is designed to look like the ocean floor and picks up the Noah's Ark theme from the little boy's bedroom. The pinstripe walls add pattern to the classic space, while the white vanity boasts open shelving for the easy retrieval of towels and toys.
Throughout this Spanish Colonial Revival home, the warm earth tones play a major role. However, a surprise awaits in the guest bathroom. Purple hexagon and diamond tiles bring a cool and bright touch through the floor and backsplash. Elegant cabinetry is topped with marble countertops.
A classic white-and-black master bathroom gets a twist with modern fabrics. The Biedermeier sofa was recovered in Scalamandre fabric by Kendrac and Kole Interior Designs. The coffee table is an antique. The floor is marble. The window treatment fabric is from Lacefield Designs.
Classic tiles, from penny tile on the floor to subway tile in the shower, create texture in this all-white bathroom. A pair of matching clean-lined vanities are tucked into the nook with chrome sconces lighting the space.
Fiberglass soaking tubs, while functional, can appear as eyesores. Since the soaking tub is properly scaled for the space and in fine working condition, it was left in place, then updated with subway tile cladding as the walls. In order to create a seamless look, the front of the tub was framed out with two-by-four lumber, then covered with backer board before being tiled and grouted.
