LEDs line the edge of the pool and change the water from its usual blue to bright green, red and even purple. After an evening swim, the owners will definitely enjoy sitting back and watching the display.
This inviting upper porch sits just off the multipurpose room, a space surrounded by beautiful live oak trees. “This ceiling is a little bit more periwinkle and we did it on purpose just to break it up and give it its own identity,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.
Just refreshing your rug, pillows and throws can be an easy and affordable way to bring on-trend touches to a new home. "Warm tones like rusts, browns, tans, beiges are making a big comeback" says Henderson, especially when paired with black, blue or green.
An intricate woven tapestry framed above the changing table coordinates with the ceiling mural and serves as a sentimental reminder of past travels. The wicker elephant basket fits the whimsical aesthetic and makes for appealing storage.
Sleek white built-ins add plenty of storage to this boy's nursery. Drawers and cabinets add hidden organization, while open shelves are the perfect spot to display favorite toys and stuffed animals. Inset in the cabinets is a changing station, complete with robot-themed wallpaper and bright red sconces.
In this neutral nursery, a vintage dresser does double duty as a changing table for now but can later return to its original function when the child is older. Above it, a dark-framed oval mirror echoes the style of the crib and the classic hardware on the dresser drawers.
An heirloom-quality pewter iron crib, silk crib bedding and antique silver furniture help this uniquely shaped nursery to sparkle. Artwork featuring a lion and a lamb coordinates with the plush animals around the changing table, lending a sense of cohesion to the space.
A quiet place of reflection and escape, the changing room offers a cozy leather chair and ottoman, perched in a corner and facing dramatic river views. A peg rail keeps waders, nets and hats at the ready.
The organic textures of a modern wood changing table and crib contrast brilliantly with bright accent colors, exciting patterns of chevron and stripes and a comfortable rocking chair with a gliding ottoman to create a fun, vibrant and peaceful nursery.
Walls were removed to open up this kitchen. An island with a gas range was added, as was a stainless steel and glass vent hood with lighting that changes colors. Shaker-style cabinetry is used throughout the space.
A unique piece of wall art on canvas depicts a painting of a magnified diamond, an unusual decor choice for a nursery but a beautiful, timeless one. The soothing gray and white color palette works perfectly for a gender neutral nursery and maintains its appeal well after infancy.
A lot of things have changed in the over twenty years we've lived in this home, but not the shade of periwinkle paint in the living room. One of the challenges of the home is the lack of an entryway: the front door opens directly into the living room, a far from perfect design feature partly lessened by a wide front porch that acts as a buffer. The large photograph over the mantle is by Atlanta artist Jody Fausett.
Tucked in a corner in this nursery space, the six drawer changing table is a modern dresser that has been repurposed for use in the nursery. Once this little boy is older, the changing table will convert back to a dresser, becoming a part of a more grown up space.
Yellow, teal and black are combined in this contemporary nursery with a black changing table dresser, black metal crib and teal metal chandelier. Dog themed wallpaper and a large framed piece of dog artwork complete the room.
