This family added 800 square feet of living space during their complete home renovation so they could stay in the neighborhood they loved. A cast-in-place concrete floor is installed for the porch, so they could create a full storage space under the porch.
This bright yellow home exterior pops against the white molding, columns and gray roof. Typical of the Cape Cod style, dormer windows are painted the same yellow color. White columns add visual interest to the spacious front porch area, creating a classic American design. Lush landscaping and white front porch furniture add to the home's curb appeal.
The HGTV Dream Home 2015 front entrance features a covered portico with two classic columns. “Because of New England weather, you don’t want to be standing out at your front door as the rain comes down,” says interior designer Linda Woodrum.
The old, cracked driveway has been replaced with stamped concrete that looks like brick, coordinating well with the walkway leading to the porch. The driveway's dark gray border adds an accent that echoes the dark green window casings on the garage and house.
“Window boxes are very much a part of the Vineyard experience,” explains designer Linda Woodrum of the gorgeous window boxes from HGTV Dream Home 2015. “(They) pertain to what is happening in each room. You look out, and they are color coordinated.”
The designers were very careful to pay close attention to Cape Cod style and details when choosing every aspect of HGTV Dream Home 2015’s front yard. Rather than a paved driveway, a traditional pea-gravel drive adds to the home’s New England style.
From the front entrance, this remodeled home retains its connection to its Florida roots with a renewed sense of appeal. Landscape lighting illuminates the yard's tropical greenery, and the home's siding and trim complement the natural scenery.
This spacious outdoor retreat from the HGTV Dream Home 2015 offers an area for dining and a comfortable place to sit and relax, taking in the stunning landscaping and gorgeous views. Plenty of seating makes this the perfect spot for outdoor entertaining.
“We used the white cushions with the dark gray pillows – each contrasting well – and I love the look,” says interior designer Linda Woodrum of the crisp, clean color palette used for the patio accessories at the HGTV Dream Home 2015.
