Light from an unusual branch-like chandelier reflects in a wall of mirror panels to illuminate this contemporary master sitting room designed by Zoe Hsu of Z Dimensions Interior Design at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2013.
The woodsy views out the window of this bathroom are brought inside via organic-feeling details like the woven shade, green glass vase and earth-tone palette. And then there's that ah-inspiring, marble-surrounded tub.
Large windows wrap around this modern dining room allowing light to flood the space. A contemporary table is surrounded by mismatched dining chairs for a fun, casual look. The centerpiece of fresh tree boughs invites the outdoors in while adding height to the table setting.
Used above the headboard, a simple branch wall decal adds a whimsical touch to this serene bedroom. The clean lines of the platform bed are complemented by the floating wooden shelves that double as nightstands. Matching bedside lamps and white bed linens keep the design light and fresh.
This traditional table holds various decorations to add color and art to the neutral walls and brown leather sofa. A blue bird figurine, blue goblet and blue coffee table books are complemented by forsythia branches and gold leaf picture frames.
This home is all about a unique use of materials, clearly seen in the range of textures in this dining room. On a grand scale you see the varying use of metal, leather and wood, but little details like the shattered glass hiding in the dining room table are what make the space unique.
When creating a holiday arrangement, look no further than what you may already have in your home. "The inspiration for this design came from the need to create a transition from the kitchen to the dining area and incorporating a common household item: coffee beans," says Carrie Koller Waller. The team uses glitter branches, coffee beans, cylinder vases, pillar candles and various ornaments to form this festive arrangement. "The coffee beans not only tie in the homeowner's love for coffee, but they also add a neutral color, give height to the candles, weight the vases and provide a great alternative to glass beads or rock fillers." A tree branch coffee table topped with scalloped glass is the focal point of this contemporary living room. Black furniture creates contrast against the crisp white walls, and a gray area rug softens the space without deviating from the achromatic palette.
