Painted pottery sits on yellow shelves in this Tuscan kitchen by designer Linda Adams. Natural light streams through the window, and potted plants and a bowl of oranges dot the counters. Blue and yellow tiles and a tiled backsplash are partnered with yellow and blue cabinets to give this cozy kitchen an Old World feel.
The highlight of this Moroccan style living room is its opulent, curved, burnt orange silk-covered sofa with coordinating gold and red pillows. The glass coffee table and bronze bowl filled with ornaments echo the sheen of the couch fabric.
To make mango spacho, pulse mango and mango nectar in a food processor bowl until smooth. Add remaining veggies, herbs and additional mango, cut to one-quarter dice. Blend in lemon, lime and orange juices. Season to taste.
The finishing touch to any good cocktail: the right garnish can make or break a drink. Display garnishes such as cherries, olives, limes, lemons and oranges in small bowls or ramekins near the mixers and glassware so guests can help themselves.
A little color goes a long way in this predominantly gray dining room. Two white pendants illuminate the dining table while a pair of floor lamps flank a colorful abstract painting in vibrant oranges and blues. Staging with fresh flowers and bowls of colorful fruit bring additional splashes of color to the room.
Defining the dining room in this open floor plan was achieved by making the fireplace the focal point of the room. The low backs on the gray upholstered dining chairs allow for viewing of the fireplace in the cultured stone accent panel. The long, dark wooden dining table looks beautiful against the light hardwood flooring. An orange bowl acts as a simple centerpiece and adds a splash of color.
