Downstairs, the owners have access to a spacious finished basement with a family room, a true laundry room, a guest suite *and* a home office. A contemporary sectional and glass-topped coffee table make this space feel cool yet comfortable.
A glass-top coffee table with a white metal base keeps this living space feeling open and bright thanks to its minimalist, airy design. Hot-pink seat cushions and Kelly-green throw pillows pop in the mostly white space. A gray-and-white-striped rug defines the living room and adds warmth to the tile floors.
The glass-top coffee table is set over cubic wooden legs for an artistic, modern look. A faded gray rug, neutral furniture and white brick walls keep the space light and neutral. Cotton stems and greenery add beautiful texture to decorate the room and add a pop of natural color.
To create this simple and colorful living space, "HGTV Star" Boris Eckey found inspiration in the printed fabric of the chairs and pillows. The pattern represents a contemporary interpretation of a kimono fabric, inspiring all the color selections of the room.
It's amazing to think that this contemporary outdoor space was once a forgotten unused area. The design firm, A Blade of Grass, kept some existing materials, including the wood decking. The existing fence was updated with horizontal cedar cladding, which provided a clean, uniform backdrop. Garden stools also are an affordable, bold accent for a patio.
