"I’ve tried to keep it very light, airy and incorporate a lot of natural textures and details like plants, rugs, special light fixtures," says Rachel Roberts of her beach front Malibu home. A mix of simple, elegant details like the chandelier in her dining room and comfort, as seen in the fur throw on the bench, create a welcoming, unfussy vibe in the home.
To give the homeowners an additional seating option in their master space, designers brought in a pair of Boho chairs and coffee table for the master bedroom. To make this area more comfy, they added a faux animal skin rug for a soft touch.
With faux-fur pillows, cotton linens, a rattan daybed and oversized rug, there's no shortage of texture in this boho-chic bedroom. Not only do these accents keep the space soft, but they can also be switched out as the little girl grows older.
With a transitional white sofa, two Art Deco-style coffee tables and a cowhide and boho rug layered on top of each other, this living room is just as comfortable as it is eclectic. A teal throw pillow brings in some of the color that the owners love as well.
Eclectic and funky little girls room with a blush pink base. The soft color palette is anchored with the charcoal accents and dots of bright pink. A window seat with comfy toss pillows in fun textures creates a cozy reading nook. A lofted wood daybed lined with pink velvet cushions is perfect for lounging and sleeping. An antique mirror over sits over the wooden dresser, on which sits vases of brightly colored fresh flowers. A play tent in charcoal gray with white dots atop a small white faux fur rug provides a special place to hide away or share secrets with friends. An area rug in blush pink with a charcoal gray and white pattern picks up the colors from elsewhere in the room and complements the wooden furniture.
This white, light-filled bedroom contains an eclectic mix of furnishings, giving it a friendly, lived-in feel. White walls create a clean, neutral backdrop, allowing pattern in the bedding and rug to set the tone for the space.
The palette in this nursery is soft and dreamy, neutral shades that take their inspiration from the natural world. For visual interest, designers layered in inviting textures: a trio of wall hangings over the changing table, a cloud-like rug, a thick crocheted throw.
With organic elements and an eclectic vibe, this mid-century modern living room is a relaxed, inviting spot for conversation. Texture adds depth and definition to the space, from the stone fireplace wall to the layered rugs to the nubby wall hanging. The bold hue of the entryway doors makes a strong statement against crisp white walls.
