As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, designer Sarah Richardson transformed this once cramped, dated bathroom into a large, relaxing space reminiscent of a coastal beach house. She borrowed three feet of space from an extra bedroom to make room for a weathered oak vanity, freestanding volcanic limestone tub and walk-in shower with body jets and a rain shower head. Light blue wall paint and crisp white beadboard paneling add beautiful yet understated coastal character and are a fresh contrast to the dark blue marble floor tile.

Seafoam green penny tiles cover the entire wall behind the vanity and carry over to the striped design of the shower.
A stone accent wall defines the bar area and adds natural texture. Moroccan-inspired pendant lights hang at eye-level for a cozy, bohemian effect that visually lowers the ceiling height. Blue-and-white Spanish style tile sets the tone for the rest of the house and the cool-hued bar.
A bright yellow accent wall, green sofa, and blue chairs sets a fun and imaginative tone for this modern, colorful playroom. Gray carpet tiles are a kid-friendly alternative that are easy to clean and replace. The kids' drawings are framed and hung on the wall as the highlights of this play place.
After soaking up some sun on the deck, the owners and their kids can cool off in the pool. A blue tiled accent wall with three water fountains makes the space feel even more refreshing.

These colors are accented on the white subway tile backsplash, and she selected a beautiful soft green marble countertop for the kitchen island. Outfitting a small room in white and reflective surfaces is a common designer strategy to lend the illusion of more space. But in this tight family bath, designer Hannah Dee of Hannah Dee Interiors used a splash of soft blue tile in another clever technique: “The accent wall brings your eye to the back of the room, broadening and lengthening the space—visually—making it feel much bigger than it really is.”
