Claire Paquin's inspiration for this great room was a chandelier located in the Biltmore Estates that her clients fell in love with when they were married on the property and wished to replicate. She also installed patterned draperies in rust, plum and light blue and carried these colors throughout the room. Paired with the creamy neutrals, this color scheme gives the room a sense of warmth and sophistication.
This elegant hallways is incredibly bright thanks to the natural light that pours into the space from the window on the door and the window that bisects the bookshelves. That natural light reflects off the neutral walls, making the space feel large and bright. Designers added neat colors and textures to make the space more personal, such as the bright blue patterned couch and curtain, the leaf pendant light and the wall hangings.
In the living room space, plenty of light pours in from the outside. Airy curtains on one set of windows soften the light, while the Ratan shades on the other windows add texture to the space. Before the renovation, this loft was cluttered with a limiting layout and the homeowner's business papers scattered around the space. Now, the layout of the room is much more functional. The blue accent wall creates a focal point in the living area of this rustic loft, while the whitewashed cabinet softens the bold, blue color and serves as a functional storage piece for supplies and papers. In the center of the space, the coffee table perfectly fits the design, providing a versatile space for work and play. To help connect the living space with the adjoining master suite, an industrial pendant light and airy curtain give these loft spaces seamless cohesion.

In the master bedroom, David and Kortney wanted to create a space that would feel bright and open like the rest of the house, but would still have its own, distinctive style, so they chose to anchor this space in a soft blue rather than mint, giving the space a more romantic feel. Large windows with airy, white curtains help to add to that feeling, while a neutral rug and neutral chair help to tie the space together.
This master suite's makeup vanity takes advantage of the natural light pouring in from the large window bank above it. “It seems counterintuitive, but color and pattern chaos in my office motivates me,” says Sonal, who designs textiles. That explains the eclectic combination of woven baskets on the wall and layered rugs on the floor. The desk, with pyramid legs and a sleek glass top, has big-time presence. Adding to the glam mishmash: orange poufs from Surya, a blue-and-white ikat chair from Anthropologie, and curtains made with indigo-dyed fabric by Lewis & Sheron Textiles.
