White metal chairs are from West Elm. Blue powder coated custom tables are industrial, but not cold. Kim Lewis Designs wanted to keep the color casual and simple, but inviting. The green painted base on the bench wraps around to the other banquette and the counter, so the eye has a clear path of color to follow -- all on the same plane.
Upholstered chairs match the plaid cushion and blue floral throw pillows padding the built in window bench creating the quintessential, cozy breakfast nook feel. The wood table compliments wood elements used throughout the open floor design including barstools lined at the marble-topped kitchen island. Pendant lights over the island are leveled with the lamp shade chandelier above the breakfast table.
The focus in this classic, casual family kitchen is to provide plenty of space for guests. Three white bar chairs line the dark blue kitchen island with a marble countertop and place settings, and a round wooden table and bench provide more space in the breakfast nook. Light gray walls and dark hardwood floors give the space a warm and inviting feel.
Water is overflowing out of this hexagonal hot tub creating a beautiful reflective finish over the iridescent blue, turquoise and brown tiles. Three levels create a descending shape and built in bench seating within the tub. The concrete patio frames one side of the hot tub while the other opens into the swimming pool.
Mod seating options face a striking focal wall in this wide open, contemporary living space. White walls create a gallery-style backdrop that makes the tufted blue sofa and modern paintings pop. Sleek black benches provide extra seating in the conversation area, which is anchored by a neutral rug. Wood for the fireplace doubles as art and adds a touch of irony to the distinctly urban space.
Neutral, solid tones mute the patterned carpet and blend it beautifully into the room. A large tufted headboard stretches up from layers of pillows feature two navy pillows complimenting the blue tone in the carpet. An upholstered bench at the foot of the bed matches the armchair and ottoman positioned in the natural light of the window trio. A spherical chandelier combines traditional style with contemporary intrigue.
A wing of this Mediterranean terrace juts out into the lush Sardinian landscape to offer sweeping views of the crisp blue sea. The terra cotta color of the tile extends onto the cushions of a built-in bench, as well as the warm wood roof of the covered veranda. This three-building villa rests at the heart of the village of Porto Rafael, just steps from the picturesque Piazzetta.
By using the client's love for natural elements, the designers were able to create an oasis complete with a pebble wall and bench, full body shower and marble wrapped air spa with light therapy. The vibrant green and blue wall art adds a pop of color to the luxe modern bathroom. All of these elements contribute ease of use and life style in order for the client to successfully age in place.
Small but oh-so-convenient, the onsite changing room of this pool house ensures a quick dip when the mood strikes. It is curtained off from view, but the powder blue interior walls echo the colors of the swimming pool. The line art and rustic bench are nice touches for the space as well.
Each corner of this living room is a treasure for the eyes, with carefully positioned furnishings that accentuate colors in a certain way. For example, the turquoise blue found at the top of the contemporary artwork in the entryway is the exact hue as the stripes of the wing chair in the living room. Likewise, deep orange is seen in the pillow on the chair, the bolster pillow on the bench and the urn on the dining room sideboard.
This inviting foyer welcomes guests into a bright open living room that is dripping in character. White wainscoting lines the walls, while metallic foil gray silver cork wallpaper add a touch of color to the niches and the ceiling. A subtle custom bench hugs the walls with a dark blue and gold fabric adding seating to the space. Finally, a custom marble medallion sets the tone for the rest of the home.
