The calming blue and white color palette of HGTV Smart Home 2015 is carried through in the bedroom’s throw pillows, which feature a fun pattern that can be seen throughout the room. A hint of metallic speaks to the upscale, glamorous style of the space.
Unique blue chairs could easily make a space feel overly formal -- but not with the addition of funky white throw pillows and a blue-white printed rug. Unique design accents also fill the room with casual personality.
Designer SuzAnn Kletzien included elements of blue –– her client's favorite color –– throughout her design plan, as seen in these throw pillows. A navy velvet pillow and blue and white upholstered pillow trimmed in the same navy fabric pair beautifully with the taupe velvet sofa.
Soft, muted colors allow the patterns to take center stage in this comfortable family room. Zebra-striped drapes in gray and white complement the zebra-patterned pillow, while other accent pillows with subtle patterns add soft color and texture to the plush white sofa.
Before, the dining nook in this cottage was dim and dingy, with dated finishes that failed to take advantage of the room's natural light. Now, a built-in window seat serves as a banquette for a charming breakfast space. The all-white backdrop reflects light and makes colorful pillows and accessories pop.
Double-height windows flank the left side of this modern living room, bringing in lots of natural light. Keeping the walls white and accenting with vivid colors and softer shapes maintains the brightness and softens the strong architectural lines in the space.
A cozy wood swing features a mix of patterned blue throw pillows beckoning visitors to this sunny front porch. A wicker chair provides additional seating and frames the space around a red tasseled rug. Plants add color and the perfect finish to the design.
Located in Martha’s Vineyard, HGTV Dream Home 2015 is bound to be an attraction for guests all year round. Interior designer Linda Woodrum kept that in mind when outfitting the great room with furniture. Extra chairs by each door can be brought into the center for guest and look great on their own.
