This luxurious fountain at this sprawling Georgian estate is situated in one of the home's many courtyards and features two elegant bird sculptures. Meticulous landscaping surrounding and within the courtyards adds to the home's southern charm and coziness.
Local Knoxville, Tenn., artist Kelly Brown of Bower Bird Sculptures created an arch of bicycles, tricycles and bicycle parts at the entrance to the Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center at Volunteer Landing.
This modern dining area has a custom-built banquette with hidden storage compartments under the cushions. The bright piece is paired with a glass-top table and contrasting graphic throw pillows. The bird sculpture and teardrop vases tie in elements from the great outdoors.
A wrap-around gray stone fireplace creates an impressive focal point for this contemporary living room. Colorful furniture surrounds a glass coffee table, which allows full view of the chic area rug below. Above the fireplace hangs a metal flock of birds sculpture, adding to the contemporary feel of the space.
Philip Jeffries wallpaper sets a neutral backdrop for the metal bird sculpture that hangs above the custom bed in this urban master retreat. A pair of mirrors creates a symmetrical arrangement that hugs the bed, which is situated to take maximum advantage of two walls of windows. Custom draperies add pattern and privacy.
A sweet window seat takes a contemporary turn thanks to bold, black-and-white prints on the seat cushion and accent pillows. Coastal accessories and artwork keep the space tied to its beachfront setting.
The dining room, directly beyond the living room is the ideal place, in my mind, to display artwork by both Atlanta artists including Matt Haffner, Katherine Taylor and Rachel Ballard and a few from New York (William Steiger) and Los Angeles (David Lynch) as well as small sculptures under vitrines and a collection of Audubon bird prints.
The garage’s laminated composite wood storage system includes six drawers for organizing and storing tools, home and garden accessories, craft supplies and more. Kayaks hang on the wall above, which can be used to enjoy the marsh out back. A coral wood cluster sculpture and wood bird figurines that mimic some of the feathered friends you find in the local marsh decorate the top of the storage system.
