A custom table by Donald Judd and shelves made from Baltic birch plywood are statement pieces in the reception area of an industrial live-work loft in New York City. The red chairs also were designed by Judd. The project by Desai Chia Architecture won a 2018 AIA Institute Honor Award for interior architecture.
ChiLantro began as a food truck concept in Austin, Texas. The design concept for the new brick & mortar is all about good food and thought provoking "inspired" conversation.
Keeping the finishes a bit raw, like their journey on the open road in a truck, Kim Lewis Designs used birch plywood, studs, raw steel, white subway tile and orange colored cord pendants to create a simple, yet colorful space. The design is as casual and authentic as the food served.
