This traditional bedroom is infused with soft color palettes of blues and silvers, velvet fabric, Venetian mirrors and mirrored furniture. The blue cushioned window seat is the perfect spot for reading a book.
This brightly colored bedroom was designed for two 10-year-old girls who wanted to base the room on their two favorite colors. Designer Alisha Gwen was even able to include their own artwork into the small space.
According to Genevieve Gorder, this bedroom needs some serious help. "A white upholstered hollow-core door as a headboard and layers of white bedding would have added comfort and a sense of dreamy luxury," says Candice. "Acoustical ceiling tiles wrapped in pink cotton to fill the area above the desk would have been a more striking and practical treatment."
Mirrors and mirrored furniture are high-impact ways to get a luxury look, even on a budget. You can simply add a mirror, such as this round fish-eye mirror above the bed, which Atlanta designer Michelle Mentzer found at a discount. Or go glam by switching out a basic bedside table for a mirrored nightstand. If you have hardwood floors, add a patterned rug from an outlet store.
Natural light illuminates this modern bedroom with white bed linens and a neutral tile floor. Mirrored sliding closet doors keep the space open, while white nightstands frame the bed. Neutral pillows add a finishing touch.
The low natural light showcases the dual-direction of the lamp light that hits the edges of the mirror wall decoration. The yellow rug is a beautiful contrast to the soft blue walls and bed linens, while floor-length curtains add a dark hue to the neutral room and pale hardwood floor.
This modern bedroom features soft, blue-gray walls, a dark brown pintucked headboard and wall lamps on either side of the bed. A mirrored five-drawer nightstand sits to the left of the bed, while a brown and white plaid sofa to the right provides the perfect spot for relaxing.
