Who doesn’t love a good dessert mash-up? This cake consists of yellow sponge layers stacked with vanilla pudding and bananas. A fluffy covering of yellow buttercream and a row of vanilla wafers on top makes the inspiration unmistakable. Some of our other favorites dessert-cake mashups are tiramisu cake, and key lime pie cake.
Crunchy ‘Sweet Sunset’ banana peppers won the 2015 All-America Selection award. The fruits grow on compact plants that thrive in containers or the garden, and signal they’re ready to harvest when they change from pale green to light yellow. If you prefer, wait a little longer to pick, until the peppers turn red. This variety has better pest and disease resistance, and is more tolerant of drought and heat, than many older varieties.
This grab and go treat is hard to resist and makes a fun dessert for your next outdoor get together. Blend bananas and coconut cream, then pour mixture into a brownie pan lined with wax paper. Fold in mini chocolate chips, freeze then cut into squares. Place between graham crackers and garnish with more chocolate chips.
Everyone will love to chill out with this exotic chia seed concoction. Combine coconut milk, banana, strawberry, vanilla and honey in a blender. Add chia seeds and chill the mixture overnight. Then pour into molds, freeze and enjoy!
For a fun and healthier spin on the traditional banana split, slice a banana in half lengthwise, spoon plain or vanilla Greek yogurt over the center, top with fresh berries and granola and drizzle with honey.
