Midcentury-modern side tables in white mixed with modern tripod table lamps add streamlined design to the space. Skylights and windows bring natural light to the room and bring an airy feel to the relaxing space.
Blush-pink walls feel soft and airy when combined with white towels and a large white soaker tub. The coral Roman shade adds a pop of color and connects the design the warm tones found in the adjacent master bedroom.
Strong lines found in the console table base echo the black elements found throughout the guest room and contrast against the light grey walls. The home’s neutral wall colors pop as the rooms fill with bright and airy light.
A new wider double crank fully operable window behind the canopy bed floods the space with lots of natural light and allows fresh air inside. The window also acts as a faux "headboard" for the modern canopy bed.
In the master bedroom, designers anchored the space in a soft, mint green to showcase the couple's warm, honey colored, antique bedroom suite. Then, they added white bed linens to keep the room feeling light and airy.
To help the dining room maintain its airy feeling despite its small space, designers used a glass top table with a sculptural wood base. The finish on the dining chair legs are painted so that they coordinated with the chandelier, while the upholstery adds the texture and black and gray contrast that is carried throughout these two spaces.
To create an architectural element worthy of a luxury hotel, Atlanta designer Rachel Greathouse started with a $30 mirror at a flea market. She painted the four-paned frame in a gloss that matched the wall color, and then hung the mirror at a 45 degree angle for an interesting visual effect. From its place above the bed, the mirror can appear like a diamond-shaped window because it reflects the windows on the opposite wall.
Contrasting neutral colors and a glass backsplash create an energetic warmth while maintaining a light and airy feeling in this kitchen. The island contains just a few cabinets in order to visually open the space.
Sunny Side Up - If you thrive on sunshine, your bedroom should be bright and airy. Sheer curtains let in lots of natural light, and the addition of a mirror will help make your room even brighter. This kitchen was transformed from a dark space with a tiny island to an open, airy concept with a nine foot island and open shelving for a casual, modern restaurant feel.
In order to compensate for removing the original upper cabinets, custom-made stainless steel shelves and a full wall of storage were added. The storage wall contains extra-deep cabinets throughout and a cubby area for small appliances like the toaster. The cabinets next to the double wide commercial refrigerator are actually tall pull-outs for added storage. Family durable materials such as wrought iron and wood stools were used so nothing is too precious to enjoy.
The bedside cabinets and master bed are custom pieces designed by Habachy Designs. The bed has a sophisticated, channeled headboard with wood trim. Even in a neutral and white space, warmth was created through the mixture of old and new. There is a big mix of vintage pieces with new designs. The vintage desk chair is brass and zebra hide and phenomenally crafted with its skinny, curved and tapered legs.
The carved wood table is hand-crafted by an artist of the trade. It is a custom Habachy Designs collection piece and tapers upwards to an inset Silver Portoro marble top and kerfed edge detail. The custom chaise lounge designed by Habachy Designs is inspired by oriental architecture, and the custom designed dining table, also by Habachy Designs, is a light gray oak wash that centers the great room with an understated presence.
