The homeowner of this French Country Home wanted to re-charge her space and bring in vibrant colors, girly patterns and bold statements. The traditional furniture of this living room was replaced with bright colored pieces, such as this couch with tons of colors and a bold design. Complimentary pillows were added to accent the furniture and give the space an even more stylish and elegant look.
The funky textures and patterns in this space help to add depth and personality to a large room. Modern furniture keeps the design continuous, while teal fabric and leopard print can be found throughout the space. To add texture to some of the darker colored furniture, designers added fuzzy pillows. To complete the space, designers added unique accent pieces and statues, showing off even more of the homeowner's personality, making the space feel intimate despite its largeness.
The living room of this Point Lorna, California, villa home features interior details which allow accents of the verdant courtyard gardens to carry throughout the house. Here the chartreuse of a floral painting complements the sun-lighted flowering branches framed by a window, while below, a fireplace is lined with firewood, its texture reflected in plush wicker lounge chairs decorated with soft teal pillows that match the greenery peeking inward through a glass door.

Nicola and Michael are looking for a space where they can entertain friends and relax with their family. Jillian designed a space that is light, flowing and functional. The windows all around the room allow plenty of light into the space, while the canned lighting in the ceiling helps to add light. The neutral wall color helps to reflect the light, while the grey sofa and its pillows adds color to the space and softens it. "I love gray — I think I always will," says interior designer Lexi Westergard. "However, I am definitely using it differently than I have in the past. I still love it for bathroom cabinet colors, pillows, rugs and accents. I am loving more of a greige or white for wall colors. I think this year we will see white as the dominant, go-to neutral color for walls."
If bright white walls are a bit out of your comfort zone, try a warm gray tone that’s light enough to almost look white, like Lexi did in this living room. She chose Benjamin Moore’s Classic Gray, one of her favorite paint colors.
Pops of coral stand out in this living room’s black and white color palette. Designer Mariah O’Brien loves to begin with a white base, adding bold hues in the form of accent walls and accessories for a striking palette. Mariah’s secret? “The whites I like to use showcase the colors, upholstery, fabrics and art in the room without competing with the wall color. If and when our clients need a little change, it is much easier to change out the window treatments, pillows and accessories than to have to repaint an entire room,” says O’Brien.
Pastel details contrast with the wood elements in this master bedroom remodel. The printed, yellow wallpaper creates an accent wall in this cottage-style bedroom, acting as a cheerful backdrop for the pink and gray aspects of the room. Crisp, neutral bedding along with the clean lines of the neutral headboard anchor the bedroom's largest furniture piece and mirrors the neutral fireplace. A splash of bold color is added to the decor with the use of pink throw pillows, a nightstand and printed ottoman. A wooden table and mantel act as a base for decorative pieces and soft, pastels colors in the chair and nightstand lamp elaborate on the room's pastel ambiance. A distinct, natural lighting fixture adds a rustic element to the room.
