Multiple outdoor living areas off the front of the home take full advantage of its lovely setting, with forest and lake views. The trees also offer privacy as does the house's elevation; it sits approximately 12 feet higher than the street and over 25 feet back from it.
Since the main level is elevated roughly 12′ off the ground, it appears as though the house is actually sitting directly on the water. With several windows surrounding the space, the kitchen area has a lovely view of the ocean from any seat in the space.
This outdoor kitchen is adjacent to a new gravel patio with elevated vegetable gardens. This provides both better access to the garage as well as overflow space for entertaining. Another unique feature to this design was the paving material. The patios are laid with a 2’x4’ porcelain tile imported from Italy that had a 12-week lead time for delivery. The stairs had to be carefully designed and ordered because only the manufacturer could bullnose the edges of this material and maintain the proper color.
