French Provence Home With Private Fireplace and Patio
Another wonderful feature of this French-themed home is a private patio area and fireplace that appears separate from its main gathering space. One can relax, take a breather or even meditate in this small, out-of-the-way area that is as beautifully apportioned as the rest of the home. Mark Scott and Associates designed the landscaping with a more secluded space in mind.

Granite bridges provide the perfect path to explore the garden. A floating patio island showcases the round bed and tranquil views of the pond. The inspiration for this entry garden came from the owner, who wanted an “Eastern” garden that would work vicariously during their 11 month stay in Minnesota. Water was to be a major part of the design, as well.
The cedar hot tub is tucked into the hillside, surrounded by field stone walls and a cozy flagstone patio. Restrained plantings take their cue from the stunning natural setting. Sweeps of native grasses and succulents dot the garden; olive trees provide structure and shade.

Wicker Furniture With Bright Orange Throw Pillows on Rooftop Patio Sitting Space

Keep family and friends cool in the shade with this pergola. Breezy fabrics provide shade without sacrificing sunlight, while cozy furnishings and blue accessories dress up the space. These inviting colors and the backyard poolside setting create a relaxing outdoor space.
If you want the benefits of privacy plants without the hassle of maintaining them, line your patio with faux boxwood hedges. Strategically placed faux hedges provide privacy in a pinch for anyone who likes green spaces but lacks green thumbs.
In this sophisticated home, the transition between indoors and out is made gracefully seamless with a large sliding glass door and a stone wall that extends from the interior dining area out to the patio.
