Unused Attic Space Transformed into Little Girls' Playroom
These homeowners were in need of a space for their two little girls to get creative, so designers Karen E. Laine and Mina Starsiak of HGTV's Good Bones transformed an unused attic space into the perfect playroom. An accent wall in the back of the space provides a focal point, while keeping the room fun and bright, while shelves give the girls a place to store their toys and display their artwork. A white rug adds comfort to the space, creating a great spot for the girls to play and draw together.
A plush velvet chaise lunge creates an inviting nook for the homeowner to relax and indulge in a good book. Yellow and white throw pillows and a coordinating throw rug enhance the cheery feel of the space.
This attic has been converted into sports room with sports-related art hanging on sloping portions of the ceiling and a football field border along the bottom walls. A large television is positioned on one side of the room with comfortable patterned chairs.
In this attic bedroom, the pairing of textured green wallpaper with a beamed ceiling and wainscoting creates an airy, tropical feel. Graphic-patterned fabric on the pillows, chair and window shades bring a modern touch to the room.
The Perez family wanted a home gym for the whole family. Since they are all active, they felt like they missed out on time with each other, but with Chip's and his team's designs, the Perezes get to work out as a family with something for everyone.
As seen on HGTV's hit show Elbow Room, Chip and his team of designers created an attic home gym for the Perez family who felt they missed out on time with each other while they all were exercising. This room will bring the whole family together with something for everyone. To keep the family cool, Chip and his team installed a giant fan. They also installed this beverage cart to keep the gym rats hydrated as they exercise.
The sloped ceiling, textured wallcovering and platform beds of this attic bedroom evoke the feeling of sleeping in a tent, an especially luxurious one. Between the beds, open shelving stores books and displays colorful accessories. A butterfly chair takes advantage of the big window and pretty view.
Converted attic space now serves as an eclectic loft for kids and guests to relax. Beautiful pine wood floors warm up the all-white space. A bamboo sofa with white seat cushions nestles perfectly against the sloped ceiling.
Licensed contractor Chip Wade reveals the newly transformed attic space to the Perez family. With every family member being active and involved in sports, the family felt like they were missing out on spending time together. To fix this problem, Chip Wade turned the unfinished attic space into a home gym that fits every family member's needs. The gym includes this industrial fan to keep everyone cool while sweating, as seen on HGTV and DIY Network's Elbow Room.
