Midcentury Modern Kitchen is Included in Updated Home's Open Floor Plan
By removing three of the kitchen's walls, designers opened up the kitchen to the rest of the home. Now, whoever is preparing a meal or enjoying one at the breakfast bar can be included in the action in the rest of the home.
The homeowners loved their home's Midcentury Modern design, but they wanted it to have an updated feel, so they tasked designers with finding a way to preserve the home's charm while adding modern amenities, so designers expertly blended the original mahogany paneling with new, sleek cabinets and splashes of marble to create a fun, elegant space.
To give this space an updated look, designers removed the wood paneling surrounding the fireplace and painted everything in all white. Then, they added recessed LED lights, new window treatments and warm, Midcentury Modern furniture to complete the space.
