The designer of this home made use of a stair landing to create a wee retreat for its owner. With an overall square footage of 6'6" x 7' the tiny space required pieces with just-right scale and practical function.
Coastal-style furniture and colorfully vibrant textiles – turquoise seat cushions and bright orange patterned throw pillows – lay the foundation for this white living room. Metallic accents paired with a sleek acrylic end table keep the look fresh and lively.
Small white mirrors in various shapes create a unique, decorative wall treatment in place of one large wall mirror. A white wicker chair with mismatched pillows and flanked by two side tables serves as a quiet reading nook.
Against a wall painted lime green, this alabaster white bookshelf provides a sharp contrast. Items displayed on the shelf include white books and white ceramic pieces, including a topiary plant and coral.
In this bungalow style bedroom, an oversized chair is positioned next to a window. The drapes covering the window and one pillow in the chair are made from the same blue and floral-print fabric. The subtle coastal decor creates a relaxed bedroom sitting area.
The guest bedroom “has the feeling of this island, where there is a lot of energy," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "There is the sense that you could relax and have this nice experience of being somewhere different, but still it is very pleasant.”
White and Blue Coastal Sitting Room With Lucite Table
The blue and white decor of this family room pulls in the sparkling blue of the swimming pool just steps away. In the center of the room, a lucite coffee table keeps the focus on the oversized print of the rug.
Bright, Breezy Seating Area Boasts Waterfront Views
Bright white walls and four windows featuring waterfront views create a breezy, airy atmosphere for this seating area. Four comfortable armchairs are grouped close together to encourage intimate conversation.
Neutral Coastal Sitting Area With Warm, Relaxed Style
This large coastal-style space keeps it cool with a neutral color palette, a full sitting area and a custom console designed by Terri Robison on the wall beneath the TV. Unique driftwood-inspired sconces accentuate the coastal beach house feel of this room.
