Blown glass chandeliers, acrylic chairs and a row of cosmic pendants bring a feeling of lightness to this open, modern loft. Carved from the top floor of a century-old St. Louis warehouse, the 7,500-square-foot loft features 18-foot ceilings, original arched windows and industrial elements like exposed brick, concrete columns and metal piping. The open concept design is ideal for entertaining.
This eclectic living room features large windows that allow natural light to illuminate the space. Lime green curtains and armchairs add bright accents, while a purple area rug and plush ottomans add fun contrast. A red brick fireplace adds a traditional touch.
Wine Tones Adorn Walls, Details in This Lounge Area
Inspired by Marsala, Pantone’s color of the year, designer Jeff Schlarb chose a rich wine color as a theme for the Pent Room at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015 and worked it in to every detail of the space, from the walls, to the nailhead trim on the tailored sofa. This sitting area allows for private conversation removed from the activity of the pool table and bar.
This bold office space is full of character and charm from the black crown molding to the houndstooth matching chairs and rugs. Light gray walls with purple accents in the curtain and cork boards give this space the extra color and lightness it needs to be a perfect work area.
Mulberry Purple Home Office With Clean-Lined Furniture
Mulberry purple walls provide a rich, vibrant backdrop for this stylish home office. A clean-lined desk and chair with slim silhouettes pair with grayscale artwork, allowing the wall color to take center stage.
Doorway Draws Playful Contrast to Elegant Dining Room
The dining room was awkward and small, so designers covered the walls with a fun, gold malachite wallpaper and addd a linear chandelier to distract from the odd lines on the space and draw the eye to the center of the space. To bring in a bigger sense of richness, designers brought in bold purples to accent the gold wallpaper. At the entrance to the space, a surfboard and photography add a playful contrast to the formal, elegant dining space.
Purple reigns in this contemporary dining room. Purple walls and a purple and magenta rug contrast with the neutral chairs and black dining table. A pendant light with a drum shade and an ivory sideboard complete the look.
Whimsical Office in Shades of Violet and Turquoise
A turquoise desk with a violet tufted side chair, patterned accent wall, and contemporary artwork work perfectly together to provide a sense of merriment to this home office. Especially noteworthy is the purple "bubble" chandelier that catches the eye.
When "floating" furniture in a living room – or positioning it away from the walls and centered around a focal point – use a measuring tape to ensure at least 36 inches of space is left between the central seating and any pieces placed along the perimeter. This will allow for ideal traffic flow throughout the room.
Transitional Mauve Living Room With Black Leather Chairs, Glass Coffee Table and Crystal Fringed Chandelier
Pairing these black leather chairs with a mauve wall gives the color a lavender-like finish. Throw pillows in mauve tones create a beautiful color balance and soften the seating. Tall potted plants and coffee table plants add vibrant natural complimentary color. The gallery wall and chandelier finish the feminine feel of the room.
This seating area sits adjacent to a wet bar in the Pent Room at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015, making it the perfect spot for adults to enjoy cocktails and conversation. The oversized pendant light is made from a synthetic resin to keep it lightweight.
Purple Walls Create Depth in Contemporary Home Office
Rich purple walls create a sense of depth in this contemporary home office. A patterned rug with a tie-dye look complements the walls, and other furnishings are kept neutral so as not to make the space feel overdone.
Against an eggplant purple wall, a white shelving unit provides sharp contrast, coordinating with a small white table flanked by two velvet chairs. This elegant space provides stylish storage for books and accessories.
Blush-colored roses bloom on the opposite side of the space, creating a display that distracts from the sleek black TV. A textured buffet table below offers storage for DVDs and complements the room's jewel-toned furnishings.
