Stone Double Fireplace in Contemporary Master Bedroom
A double-sided stacked stone fireplace is a stunning focal point in the center of this elegant master bedroom. Comfortable chairs sit on one side for a cozy seating area, while a platform bed is situated between picturesque windows with beautiful views.
Renovated Country Home With New Front Entry and Two-Car Garage
The flow and logistics of the house were re-oriented by adding a new front entry complete with post-and-beam construction and a metal roof. A two-car garage and concrete driveway complete the look of the exterior.
Remodeled Home Exterior With Wraparound Porch and Natural Wood Columns
As seen on Fixer Upper, this home's outside appearance was transformed by adding an all-new facade with post-and-beam construction, a full wraparound porch, new metal roof and natural wood columns and support beams.
A soft neutral palette sets the stage for a welcoming, restful living space. Deep, cushy furniture is the perfect place to gather, while a game table sits beside the built-in entertainment center. Texture is brought into the monochromatic palette through the exposed brick wall, natural fiber area rug and mix of throw pillows.
White Master Bathroom With Marble Tile Wall And Floors
Marble tiles laid in a herringbone pattern give the bathroom a classic look, while chrome fixtures and sleek floating vanities bring contemporary touches to the space. Black framed windows draw attention to the incredible ocean view. Vibrant, framed wall art serves as the only pop of color in this monochrome bathroom.
Transitional Bathroom With Black & White Tile Shower
The shower in this bathroom features sleek, angular tile work and a crisp black and white palette. A vintage mirror adds a charming touch, a wood vanity lends an earthy feel and a swing-arm wall lamp is an unexpected element.
Bold, graphic wallpaper leads into this small contemporary bathroom, where classic subway tile plays a central role. Stained concrete grounds the space, while a sleek black vanity adds to the modern feel.
Glazed ceramic subway tiles are an inexpensive and classic addition to any bathroom. Designer Mark Williams loves to use them on the walls since they serve a practical solution and create a refined look.
"Lighting is vital to any good design and it's definitely worth the splurge when it comes to your bathrooms. Whether it's a cozy powder bath for visiting guests or a large master suite where you prepare yourself for the day that lies ahead, lighting can dramatically enhance both mood and function. I love uniting the warm glow of natural light with the brilliance of sophisticated chandeliers, sconces and recessed lighting to ensure that a bathroom is ready to dazzle at any hour of the day," says designer Marie Flanigan.
Contemporary, square hardware makes a striking statement against the rustic wood of the double vanity in this chic, transitional bathroom. For a classic node, the flooring is laid in a herringbone pattern, while an oversized mirror helps to visually enlarge the space.
Architectural details, from the coved ceiling to the arched windows, make a dramatic impact in this living room's design. Centered on the fireplace, the warm, cozy seating area combines a classic sofa and leather armchair with contemporary black-and-white chairs.
Open Concept Living Space With Exposed Beam Vaulted Ceilings
This renovation included completely re-fashioning the living space. The center section of the ceiling was raised and multiple spaces were newly laid out. A wall was removed to open the new living area into the all-new kitchen, which had formerly been a master bath and closet.
To break up the long living space, two separate seating areas are created. Each space is defined by a traditional area rug, beaded chandelier, marble-topped coffee table and comfortable yet sophisticated furniture. Gleaming metallic exposed beams add a touch of glamour, and the fireplace remains a chic focal point of the space.
