In the homeowners' teenage son's bedroom, designers wanted to really showcase his personality, so they anchored the space in the sleek, white wall color and ash-colored wood floor to connect this room to the rest of the home's design. Then, they incorporated the son's favorite things-sports, cars and music-by hanging posters on the wall in homage to this. They also made sure to include fun, bright colored details, such as the table lamps and the bed linens to bring a little fun to the room.
This teen bedroom gets an airy, boho look with a light-colored palette and fun details like the hanging chair. Plush textures—a fringe-covered throw, the chair's pom pom-trimmed pillow—are cozy touches.
Eclectic Teen's Lounge with Access to Walk-In Closet and En Suite
In this chic, yet sophisticated bedroom, two doors on the back wall are almost unnoticeable; however, they create a more functional space. One door opens to reveal a walk-in closet, giving the teen plenty of storage space, while the other connects her to a full bath.
To make what was a juvenile, childish girl's room more appropriate for a growing tween, its walls were painted a deep shade of violet, album cover-inspired art was hung to create a focal point, vintage lighting was installed on the ceilings and the walls, and women's fashion fabrics were used in upholstered accents. Now the designer-caliber room is as appealing to the tween herself as it is to her young parents.
Bedroom With Criss-Cross Ribbons on the Walls for Holding Photos
This bedroom's unique feature is the criss-cross ribbon attached to both walls. The homeowners can place photos, art, drawings, postcards -- anything! -- under the ribbons, and change them out at any time for changing and evolving decor. Pale periwinkle-colored walls create a soothing sleep space, and an industrial-style table with wheels doubles as a dressing table or desk.
Cozy, Masculine Reading Nook in Eclectic Boy's Bedroom
The reading nook in the homeowners' son's bedroom is a space that is both cozy and masculine, with a band poster and a Raiders pennant flag to showcase his loves and a great, modern chair and wood light fixture, this space is one that invites him to settle in with a good book and enjoy his space.
For a home that's set amongst trees, the designer's vision for this teen girl's bedroom was to mimic the surroundings; the yellow trim details were a subtle suggestion of peeking out a window into a forest. The monotone color palette helped keep the space simple and chic.
Continuing her theme of "Bermuda in the city," designer Anna Donohue created a teenage retreat that is replete with fun patterns and colors. The bed and wall covering are simple in design, but graphic patterns in the pillows, Roman shade and bulletin board give the room a bold look. A black industrial-style lamp adds whimsy and spunk.
This teen bedroom is at once stylish and completely functional with its wall-length desk and storage. With classic white walls this space is brought to life with a cheery orange overhead light, green upholstered day bed, red desk hardware, and the yellow and blue roman shades.
