Stone Double Fireplace in Contemporary Master Bedroom
A double-sided stacked stone fireplace is a stunning focal point in the center of this elegant master bedroom. Comfortable chairs sit on one side for a cozy seating area, while a platform bed is situated between picturesque windows with beautiful views.
The modern custom bed with built-in night stands is built to be low to the ground to create the sleek, contemporary feel of the space. The fireplace was darkened with a special application for a streamlined, modern look that contrasts with the neutrals and whites throughout the space.
Contemporary Gray Master Bedroom with a Red Persian Rug
The new first-floor master suite includes a spacious bedroom with wall paint in a soothing cool-tone gray offset by a classic Persian rug in bold red and a king-sized bed with substantive wooden bedframe and button-tufted headboard, both in charcoal gray.
Two geometric patterns, a wallpaper focal wall and the gray-and-white carpeting, bring visual texture to the space. The rest of the furnishings are kept simple, from the crisp white to the flanking nightstand and sleek table lamps.
The sparkling, contemporary chandelier is a gorgeous highlight in the HGTV Smart Home 2015 master bedroom. According to the house planner, Jack Thomasson, “There was a very deliberate orientation of that fixture, so that at night time when the light is on and you’re on the street, it’s like this perfect framing of the fixture from the front of the house. We spent a lot of time working on getting it the right distance from the ceiling to see it from the street, and it looks really cool.”
Design Platform crafted a design plan for this master bedroom to enhance its natural lighting and to provide a sitting area for reading and relaxation. The color palette is light and subdued using cream and beige as its primary hues. Dimension and visual interest were added with the graphic-patterned accent wall and the pops of color featured in the pillows and accent pieces chosen for the room.
