A distressed country-style dresser provides storage and serves as a nightstand at HGTV Dream Home 2010. Shams and throw pillows in vibrant colors and patterns give the traditional pencil-post beds a modern makeover.
This transitional bedroom features purple, blue and green accents that give the room a calming vibe. A plush blue end table adds a pop of bright color, while white end tables with green glass lamps finish the look of the space.
A photography grid adorns one wall of the guest bedroom with a rural southern motif. “I like every house to have a mix of different mediums and that’s where photography comes in,” says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn. “Anytime I am showcasing photography I like to stick with odd numbers so I picked up nine different prints and put them together in a grid pattern.”
A wrought iron bed layered with quilts contribute to the comfortable farmhouse feel of the guest bedroom. “I liked the idea of bringing in quilts and making it a little more traditional in this room because it kind of fits the area,” says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn.
Plum painted custom millwork with blue tie-ins and traditional furniture provide a unique and inviting farmhouse style room to make guests feel comfortable and at home. “Purple is a really hard color to work with, but plum is purple with just enough brown in it to make it a little more on the new neutral side,” says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn.
