Kid-Friendly Bathroom Update with Wall Art and Grasscloth
Start with a theme, even in a small bathroom. Robin LaMonte, owner of Rooms Revamped Interior Design, continued the travel motif from a nearby bonus room into this bathroom, by using framed photos of planes and a faux propeller from a discount home decor store. For an interesting background, she covered the walls in grasscloth. While grasscloth can be expensive, you can find it at a discount if you look around -- this one was $45 for a roll and more than half off the usual price, she says.
After the renovation, the master bathroom in the Gubelmanns's new home feels modern, functional and spacious, blending Alex's modern sensibilities with Fiona's more vintage taste to create the hip spa retreat feel that the homeowners wanted.
Centered in a bay window, the freestanding tub in this beautiful master bath is as sculptural as it is inviting. Designer Liz Williams chose this symmetrical arrangement to play up the classic architecture of the space and to create a focal point in the large bath.
Traditional Master Bathroom with Walk-in Tile Shower, Clawfoot Tub and Artwork
Keep your decor in proportion. In this designer model home, everything in the bathroom is grand, from the oversized spa shower and clawfoot tub to the picture window and adjacent wall. When you have a sizeable wall in a prominent spot, fill it with a massive canvas painting or framed artwork. Whether it’s your own original art, an affordable painting from an undiscovered artist at a local arts festival or a piece found at a thrift shop, flea market or home decor store, you can find large artwork for all budgets.
Tile set in a herringbone pattern in the shower offers a look that resembles whitewashed wood, adding an elegant touch of rusticity in this bathroom. A slipper tub, glass chandelier and rug add to the style of the space.

Each side of the room has a built-in armoire, eliminating the need for extra closets; the vanity provides a place for the family to store their toiletries, and the cabinets lining the exterior walls provide extra storage for linens and sundries, giving these homeowners all the storage space they could need in a bathroom.
