In the dining space, designers from America's Most Desperate Kitchens added plenty of storage and a bar area. To add more display options and complete the design in the space, a vintage barn shutter was repurposed into a shelving unit that is illuminated by a bright, broadway light fixture. Vintage metal rakes on either side of the shelves were upcycled and used as wine glass racks.
Rustic meets modern in this contemporary dining table, where a wood-grain slab is topped with glass and paired with sleek metal legs. Arm-less white chairs have chrome legs that mimic the table's, while a one-of-a-kind pendant light chandelier makes a dramatic design statement.
The dining room renovation created a space where contemporary, clean lines meet a hint of tradition and glamour. The walls are lined with a lustrous dark wall paper embellished with a subtle pattern and crystal bead accents. The windows emphasize the glamour in the space with shimmering drapery that adds a sense of depth to the design. The furnishings complete the dramatic look by adding to the elegance and beauty of the newly renovated space.
A signature highlight in the renovation is this breakfast nook just off the kitchen, with bay window and wooden table custom built by Clint Harp. Another special feature is a set of antique doors (left) with vintage hardware installed on the new pantry.
The focal point of this space is the chandelier which hangs over the reclaimed dining table, offering a nod to a modern vintage aesthetic. All-weather wicker dining chairs add texture against the wood table and provide a finish that easily cleanable and durable for this family.
There’s nothing like a chandelier to create an elegant dining atmosphere. But wiring for an outdoor fixture can be complicated, and wet-rated styles are somewhat limited. One solution is to hang a candle chandelier from the beams of a pergola or covered patio, as designer Howard Roberts did here. Use battery-operated LED “candles” for easy operation. Add string lights radiating from the chandelier’s mounting to create a magical canopy of light above diners' heads.
This ultra-chic dining area expertly blends country and contemporary styles for a look that's fun and trendy but lived-in and comfortable. A picnic-style dining table adorned with country-inspired centerpieces pairs with contemporary upholstered chairs. Funky glass and metal light fixtures add whimsy overhead.
The view into the dining area shows how the white painted ship lap accent wall allows the plants and wood furniture to come to life. White chairs at the ends of the table add an extra pop of style to the dining set up. Hanging succulents and indoor plants add natural life and color to the design.
