Stone Double Fireplace in Contemporary Master Bedroom
A double-sided stacked stone fireplace is a stunning focal point in the center of this elegant master bedroom. Comfortable chairs sit on one side for a cozy seating area, while a platform bed is situated between picturesque windows with beautiful views.
In this home's new kitchen addition, designers used pieces of the old kitchen space, such as the old cabinets and wood floors, to create the new one. Then, they added features such as open shelves, stainless steel appliances, subway tile and wrought iron chairs to create a visually interesting rustic, industrial eat-in kitchen.
The design in the living room was kept elegant and simple so as to complement the large space, rather than compete with it. Large sliding glass doors allow in plenty of natural light, while the bookshelves add elegant display spaces. To complement the light walls, designers created a custom patina to paint onto the floor rather than staining it.
The contemporary playroom is designed for tons of fun. A ladder and climbing wall lead up to the play loft, and open shelves above the mod reading nook organizes the books. The reading tunnel has a color changing LED strip lighting that lets the kids set the mood.
Hang this vertical planter on a wall, dress up a bookshelf or add life to your mantle decor. This wine crate will hold nine 4” plants, but floral designer Angela Darrah chose to only use five. She filled the remaining four cubes with mosses, kiwi vine and white mini pumpkins.
With succulents trending in home decor and gardening, it's the perfect time to incorporate them in your holiday tablescape. Live succulents are clipped and used to top off seasonal pumpkins and squash to make a dramatic centerpiece.
In this townhouse renovation, a more efficient kitchen with updated appliances and wider work surfaces was a
must. A Spanish-style tile backsplash does the double trick of punching up the white cabinets and making the ceiling feel even higher.
