Woven armchairs overlook the sleek swimming pool, which is surrounded by a streamlined patio. Contemporary lounge chairs and oversized armchairs provide the perfect spots to relax, while a funky sculpture adds a touch of color to the space.
This was originally a small guest bedroom that was swapped with the adjoining guest bathroom to create a new and more spacious guest bathroom. Soft, pale blue floral tiles cover the walls, a suspended Lumicor panel divides the shower area from the freestanding tub and a floating, custom concrete sink provides a beautiful sink vanity area. Crystal accented lighting, plumbing fixtures and knobs add a little sparkle to the space.
A light color scheme and tall window treatments make the room look and feel spacious. The bed is equipped with a hydraulic system to provide hidden storage space to keep things organized and out of sight, as seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, Too.
This relaxing spa bathroom features a large bathtub encased in contemporary wood paneling. The paneling extends up the wall creating a warm contrast against the crisp white vanity countertop and tile floors.
A hand-tufted wool pile area rug in a muted, gravel-colored tone anchors the design of the HGTV Smart Home 2012 guest bedroom. One-of-a-kind artwork — digitally altered photographic prints — stands in place of a traditional headboard.
While staying true to the architecture of the house, modern design elements were incorporated as well. The barbecue enclosure is veneered with limestone in a subway tile cut, while a trellis added to the garage adds shade over the outdoor kitchen area. Due to the limited space of the backyard, the original backyard did not provide adequate lounging space for the homeowners. A dry deck is added within the pool perimeter, using lightweight blocks to ensure no unnecessary weight was put on the existing gunite shell.
Surrounded by a warm hardwood pool deck and textured stone columns, the contemporary hot tub is a welcomed outdoor oasis. Mosaic tile surround creates a cool, graphic visual display, while the open fireplace adds the atmosphere of indoor living outside.
In the front of the home, landscape designers used plants native to the area to create a beautiful oasis to greet the family and their guests as they arrive at the home. In the midst of the landscaping, designers used large stones to frame a pond for an even more relaxing aesthetic.
