Once a storage closet, the loft bar at the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase is now fit to provide homeowners or their guests an easy spot to mix a cocktail. Designer Linda Sullivan shows how good design can happen in unexpected places by paring a blue, lacquered cabinetry with Timorous Beasties' Colonnade Blotch wallpaper and brass hardware.
This open plan kitchen keeps things light by pairing lacquered white cabinetry with natural hardwood floors and wall panels. A built-in shelving unit with drawers underneath allows room for storing kitchen essentials and showcasing decor, while metal stools lining the kitchen island make casual dining a cinch.
Campaign-style cabinetry in a black lacquer topped with Carrara marble is just one of the stunning elements in this master bathroom. Carrara marble also covers the walls and floors surrounding the standalone tub.
Designer Naomi Stein wanted the vanity to resemble campaign-style furniture and worked with cabinetmaker Christiana Cabinetry to get the scale right. To dress up the corner, she paired a Ghost chair with a vintage mirror and a hot pink lacquer tray.
The sleek black countertops beautifully contrast the traditional recessed-panel white cabinetry. Stainless-steel appliances and clear Lacquer barstools add a fun dose of contemporary flair while the pretty blue-mosaic wall tile adds a hint of coastal style.
Designer Kathleen Navarra granted the homeowners' wishes of a light, airy kitchen with crisp white cabinetry and a cerused oak island topped with marble while weaving in her trademark use of color. Navarra turned to rich chocolate tones for the grasscloth wallcovering, hardwood floor and La Cornue oven and hood and painted the ceiling with a sky blue lacquer to add depth to the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015 kitchen.
