African violets are considered miniatures if they are 6" to 8" or less in diameter, and large if they're over 16" in diameter. Semi-minis are 6" to 8", while standards are 8" to 16". Trailing types have long runners that branch and spread; they can grow in hanging baskets or shallow pots. 'Persian Prince’ (S. Sorano, hybridizer), is a miniature with so-called girl, or scalloped, leaves. Girl leaves are usually fleshier than boy leaves, which are solid green.
This neutral living room features two gray sofas with a mixture of gray pillows in various tones. Pops of yellow — as seen in the table lamp — add a bit of color to the space, while a reclaimed wood coffee table and woven area rug add an earthy touch.
In the kitchen, tractor seat barstools welcome guests to perch next to the new waterfall countertop, paneled in solid walnut. For the Heath tile backsplash, the designer created visual interest by installing in a herringbone pattern. The gray tile stands out against the white cabinetry and adds depth to the design.
Gray subway tile starts at the top of the shower and continues down across the floor in this modern bathroom. A glass panel stands beside the rain shower head separating the bathing area from the wooden floating vanity.

The star attraction of the space, however, is the softly painted border of the tray ceiling, in a French design, that gives the room depth and drama.
An electric purple couch sings out from the foot of the bed in the master bedroom, pulling together the colorful ceiling, ottoman and mixed pattern accent pillows. Black and white furnishings and curtains are a crisp frame.
Natural daylight shows the true colors of the plaster and stones used in this pool design. Scenic Landscaping chose brighter decking materials, tiles and stones to make the outside feel resort-like and bright and bold.
